WEATHERPROOF CAMERAS
Security cameras for outside are designed specifically to withstand dust, temperature, and moisture. These outdoor surveillance cameras are rated differently and some are certified to be more waterproof than others. The ability to stand up to sun and rain will define the video camera’s life span and performance during the extreme weather. While in-door CCTV cameras cannot work outside, the weatherproof security cameras may also be also installed inside. Most outdoor CCTV cameras come with LED IR night vision capability, you can also add stand alone IR illumination to assist in poor street lighting conditions.
SPY CAMERAS
Security spy cameras are used for video surveillance without advertising its presence. The regular sized CCTV security cameras have a deterrent effect because people tend to behave innocently where surveillance is known. A portable mini security camera allows capturing people acting naturally and behaving candidly, and sometimes illegally. The “nanny cameras” are utilized generally when the chance of illegal behavior is greatly anticipated and confirmation or evidence is needed. To make a spy camera truly mobile, you may need a mobile DVR and a battery pack. While a hidden surveillance is very effective, it is also a privacy liability. Please check your local regulations before its intended use.
PTZ CAMERAS
Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) security cameras are the most capable of all CCTV cameras. With remote control you can rotate a PTZ camera to follow a moving surveillance target, zoom-in and auto focus to observe it in full detail. The PTZ security cameras are most commonly mounted on the corners for maximum field of view. Nowadays the PTZ control circuitry can be programmed to automatically track moving objects or to scan an area with a predetermined path of the camera’s movement. As a rule, you may need a specialized control panel consisting of a joystick and command buttons for your DVR to take a full control of a PTZ camera. You may also need a bracket on which PTZ camera hangs.
